Hi guys, it's Shaili! I know we've been MIA for a bit, but Empowering Economics is back and better than ever (with some pretty sick content if i say so myself)!
After deliberation on what we could write new and interesting blog posts on, we decided to go the route of intersectionality! This blog post is an introduction and super neat sneak peak of our newest series, we hope you enjoy!
In short, intersectionality is how things connect to other things. A really great way to imagine this is multiple Venn diagrams smashed into one, like the one pictured on the left. Yeah, I know. Kinda cool, right?
We wanted to incorporate the idea of intersectionality into Empowering Economics' mission statement: to educate young girls about the immense opportunity encompassed within business.
So, we present our newest series: Business Intersectionality! This series will explore how business connects to other fields of work like medicine, politics, engineering, and so many others. From this series, we hope you learn one important thing: you can't escape business.
In all seriousness, this intersectionality series is to show you how, although you may not be interested in pursuing a career focused on business, there are still aspects of it that will impact your life in any path you choose.
